How can the OS hold 60000 in athletics mode when the retractable seats go back ? According to Sky sports news its possible.

There are seats that are there but not being used for football mode. Most likely high up at the back of the stadium.
Our application was for a 54,000 seater stadium so we got 54,000 seats.
And as Lily says, some of the seats are covered for segregation of away fans. Probably not thousands but still a few hundred.

The seats just move forward and back. They don't uncover/cover and extra seats. 60k are always there.

There are more than 10,000 seats covered by TARPAULIN in the OS.
Thus, the OS will never be filled by us in football mode.
This has been known for months on the OS thread, we don't just bicker aimlessly on there. We bicker about this sort of shit.

They haven't lied directly, but we still have people confused by the number of seats in the stadium.
This is because they have not been open about this FACT.
Just like they weren't open about the FACT that the retractable seats only cover about 3 lanes of the running track, or that they plan to do nothing about filling in the gaps around the stadium, or that there would only initially be about 3,000 (5%) of the £289 seats, or that the delays around the wrap have nothing to do with planning permission etc etc.
Just general lack of transparency which people are starting to work for themselves.
